Experience the wonders of the Lowveld from 2000 feet above. The hot air balloon flight is an incredibly exciting activity that slowly rises from the foot of the mighty Drakensberg mountain range, in close proximity to the Blyde River Canyon.
Schedule (Seasonal)
- Depart Hoedspruit approximately 05H30.
- Arrive at the launch site in preparation for 06H00 flight
- Champaign breakfast served on landing at 07H00.
- Complimentary breakfast offered at a lodge nearby.
What You Should Bring
Dress warmly in layers during the winter (April – August).
Comfortable shoes as you will be standing for the duration of the flight.

Clients can drive their own vehicle to the launch site or we will happily arrange a transfer for you.
MORE INFORMATION
The flight begins just before sunrise. We will meet at the launch point for a cup of tea or coffee while the balloon is inflated. The pilot will give you a run down of the flight and what you can expect.
The pilot will take you to a height of about 2000 feet where you will have the opportunity to see the sun rise over the entire Kruger to Canyon biosphere reserve. IF you’re lucky you can spot a host of wildlife such as giraffe and hippo. The duration of the flight is one hour, which will be followed by a hearty breakfast near the landing site.
